“The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each others’ life.”

~Richard Bach

“When you look in the mirror, what do you see?  Do you see the real you, or what you have been conditioned to believe is you?  The two are so, so different.  One is an infinite consciousness capable of being and creating whatever it chooses, the other is an illusion imprisoned by its own perceived and programmed limitations.”

~David Icke

“We have reached a new milestone as a human family.  With seven billion of us now inhabiting our planet, it is time to ask some fundamental questions.  How can we provide a dignified life for ourselves and future generations while preserving and protecting the global commons — the atmosphere, the oceans and the eco-systems that support us?”

~United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon

Memorial Day 2015

“True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic.  It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost.”

~Arthur Ashe

“Whoever undertakes to set himself up as judge of Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods.”

~Albert Einstein

“I have learned the hard way to mind my business, without judging who people are and what they do.  I am more troubled by the lack of space being provided for the truth to unfold.  Humans cannot seem to wait for or honor the truth.  Instead, we make it up based on who we believe people should or should not be.”

~Iyanla Vanzant

Moving On

“What you possess in the world will be found at the day of your death to belong to someone else.  But what you are will be yours forever.”

~Henry Van Dyke

I was spellbound watching a Nova episode celebrating 25 years of the Hubble Space Telescope.  I lost my ability to follow the depth and breadth of information when teeny, tiny narrow, oblong spots were pointed out by the narrator.  These are galaxies similar to our own.  This was followed by the mathematical method by which science gauges the number of stars that exist.

I don’t remember the astronomical count.  I just sat and stared at the majestic infinity beyond my mind’s comprehension.  A truly humbling experience.

I invite you to experience this unfathomable creation.  Watch the Nova program; go to http://www.thirteen.org/programs/nova/#invisible-universe-revealed; take a look at http://hubblesite.org/gallery/album/; and check out Hubble25th.org for a brief NASA presentation.

Earth Day 2015

“I think it’s very clear that figuring out how to live sustainably within the environmental systems that support us is the defining challenge of our era.  Earth Day is important because it’s about waking up more people to that challenge and committing to engage in it ourselves.”

~Edward Norton

“Gardening is not trivial.  If you believe that it is, closely examine why you feel that way.  You may discover that this attitude has been forced upon you by mass media and the crass culture it creates and maintains.  The fact is, gardening is just the opposite – it is, or should be, a central basic expression of human life.”

~Andrew Weil
